Welcome to the Cultural Tour of Yemen at the Yemen Language Center

Architecture

The architecture in Yemen varies considerably as one travels from region to region.  In the steamy Tihama on the Red Sea coast, round, pointed huts built of reed are the norm.  In the equally hot, but dry desert of Hadramawt, mud brick architecture is predominant.  Amazingly, each city seems to have its own unique architecture.
